FODS Trackout Control Mats receives Finalist IECA Award for Innovation, Contribution and Education.

Since 1972, the International Erosion Control Association (IECA) has grown from a group of interested contractors to the worlds leading association of Erosion and Sediment Control professionals. The IECA serves as a hub for the exchange of ideas and best management practices throughout the industry. The association first expanded from the original Portland, Oregon conference across the United States. IECA Australasia was established in 1994 as the first international charter of IECA.

IECA Australasia supports the commercial, industrial, and regulatory boards in the region by providing a platform for professional discussion through regular publications and conferences. In addition, award ceremonies are held to recognize BMP innovations and contractor achievements. The Innovation, Contribution and Education award is given to an individual or organization that have provided significant solutions to better the erosion control technologies in the industry. The awards provide industry recognition and aim to "raise the standards of the erosion and sediment control industry by celebrating innovation and outstanding achievement."

JWA Oil is Australia's premium supplier of bog mats, temporary roads, and construction matting. JWA Oil submitted FODS track out control matting for the ICE award. After introducing FODS Construction Entrance Mats into the Australian market, JWA Oil has been selected as one of two finalists in the 2020 IECA Australasia ICE Awards.

The FODS mats had been in use on a number of heavy civil projects around Melbourne. The initial trials provided first hand data on the effectiveness of the system. On busy sites, the amount of required street sweeping was reduced by 40%. Contractors could more effectively contain debris on-site compared to traditional techniques such as rock and rumble grids.
