Saunders Stops Debris with FODS Trackout Control Mats at the University of Denver

 

Project

Large scale construction is occuring on the east side of the University of Denver campus. Construction began in January 2019 and is part of the DU Impact 2025 Denver Advantage. The Denver Advantage will provide a campus designed to fuel the collaborations and relationships proven to help students succeed, now and throughout their lives.

Multiple student facilities are being newly constructed or built on previous footprints by Saunders Construction Company. Saunders Construction is the premier provider of comprehensive construction management, general contracting and real estate development services in the Denver area.

Challenge

Trackout is a concern by inspectors during the construction projects. FODS Trackout Control Mats prevent offsite debris fines and helps companies comply with BMP requirements. FODS Trackout Control Mats prevent debris from entering nearby public roadways and becoming hazardous to drivers.

Solution

Saunders employed multiple FODS Trackout Control Systems to prevent trackout to neighboring streets and major thoroughfares running near and alongside the DU construction projects. Saunders has relocated entrances numerous times on their Asbury and Evans Street project locations.

Installation & Configurations

FODS mats can be seen in multiple configurations on the Dimond Family Residence Village and Community Commons and First Year Residence Hall. FODS Trackout Control mats can be configured to meet any BMP entrance requirements. Whether it is a standard T-shaped Configuration or a 1X4 Configuration, FODS Trackout Control Mats are effective and strategic at removing debris from tires and preventing worksite trackout. FODS Mats are connected with steel straps, can be relocated, removed, transported, and easily stored for use on future projects
