Tennessee Department Transportation (TDOT) Approves FODS Trackout Control System

After an official review and in the field observation of FODS Trackout Control System, The Research & Product Evaluation Division of Tennessee Department of Transportation has approved FODS as an acceptable alternative to a traditional Temporary Construction Exit constructed out of riprap.

The review process included both engineering review and in the field evaluation. The current widening project on Interstate I-440 near Nashville, is one of the projects which currently has FODS in use as a Temporary Construction Entrance and was an evaluation site.

As a newer Best Management Practice (BMP) for prevention of trackout from construction sites, FODS is an acceptable alternative for any stabilized construction entrance but Tennessee DOT joins a growing list of state and local regulatory agency and Departments of Transportation to officially add FODS to their Approved Products List.
